Daya by Zendaya is Officially Here

Not only is 19-year-old Zendaya Coleman an actress, philanthropist and activist, but the 5'10 modelesque glamazon can now add shoe designer to her incredibly long and artistic resume. Always the one to watch on the best dressed list across many fashion and media platforms, Zendaya is making her mark one stride at a time, with not only her own incredible sense of style - which she pays much respect to her stylist Law Roach who curates her unforgettable red carpet looks - but now with her shoe line 'Daya by Zendaya' which she and Roach have designed and curated together.

Wanting to have a range of style and colour options for every female, and male, the actress' main focus for the line was to create shoes that she herself have worn and personally own, while aiming to bring originality and a fusion of all her favourite shoe designs to the racks. "I started by asking people how they genuinely feel about buying shoes. For instance, when I'd get my hair done or something like that, I'd talk to people and be like, 'How much would you spend for a good shoe?' I just wanted to get their honest opinions. And, by the way, this line isn't just for women, because boys rock heels, too! For the design, I was inspired by some of the great shoes my stylist Law [Roach] has pulled for me or that I own myself, but made sure they weren't like the knockoffs I've seen. A lot of those try to do a version of a pointed-toe pump, but they cover too much toe cleavage or do something to make it not sexy. This is my own, original version, designed to be as high-end as possible," she tells Noah Silverstein of Glamour Magazine. And with input from professionals, the everyday women, and of course her own moral compass, the starlet has created a line of shoes that range from 6-inch stiletto's to stylish ballerina flats.

And being a shoe collector herself - admittedly confessing to owning more than 100 pairs of shoes - the new shoe designer shares her love for the accessory by d├ębuting an array of strappy, lacy and pointy style options that vary in every trendy colour. From beige, to maroon and the very rare navy, 'Daya' is continuing to set the trend for everyone and pushing the importance of statement shoes to pulling off an outfit.

Take the lines 'Anderson' Ghillie Lace-Up Mesh Sandal. They may be similar to a Jimmy Choo or  Brian Atwood strappy pump, but the mesh accents on the sandal accompanied by the zig-zag designs make the pump an original statement piece all on its own. And with its colour option in maroon, beige and an olive green, the shoe can be styled with many attire options that will be sure to suit your personal aesthetic.

With prices ranging from $70-$110 US and $109-$153 CAD and its availability at Nordstrom, it's not a bad thing to make your dollar stretch for a little bit of quality. Not compromising style for comfort, Coleman stays true to her goal of bringing luxury to everyone, and from the photos you must agree, there are a few statement pieces that scream, "get out of my way, me and my shoes are coming through!"

Below are a few of my favourites from the collection.
